A Door For All

Hello my crafty friends, 

Here's my first attempt at making a "door" card. I have been wanting to make one for quite awhile  now. I like how it turned out and can definitely see how there can be so many other variances of this same card: the door can be of any color or a two-tone of colors; the wreath can be made to suit the different seasons; the pattern on the door can be changed to just about anything or left totally plain.  As the door and wreath can be changed with each card made, so can the sentiment. A door card can be made for: as a new home; welcome to the neighborhood; a house warming; and we've moved!  Can you think of any others?

The square panels and bird are raised for dimension.

Card Holder/Folder

Hello my crafty friends, 

I finally started creating something to put those gift cards in that I did awhile back. I did this to match the cards that are going inside of it. The only thing that is missing on this are the initials of the recipient - sorry I can't show that. 

Two more holders to go...

Square Thank You

Hello my crafty friends, 

I had 2 base cards left over from a previous card-making session and decided to use them. Remember the 2 recent birthday cards? This time I decided to make them into Thank You cards. 

This technique is so versatile - the card and sentiment can go in any direction; change the color scheme and sentiment and poof...you can have a card for any occasion and for a man or woman. These just happens to be for a man and a woman! LOL 

The "Thank You" is raised for dimension. On the woman's, I added 2 gem stones and on the man's, I added 2 buttons. The insides were left blank as I will just write my personal note to them.

Unusual Sunflowers

Hello my crafty friends, 

This was a crafty weekend for me. Of course there's still more on my to-do craft list. There's always tomorrow... LOL 

One of the first things I did was complete my April ATC. April theme was: RECYCLE. Well I decided to do  the only thing that kept sticking in my mind to do: I recycled the lint from my dryer after doing laundry! I won't even tell you what all that lint looked like in a ziplock bag (before I got to the point of using the lint)! OMGosh! LOL 

Anyway as you can see, not much was really used but I covered the brown spots in the sunflowers with the lint. With all consideration, I think they turned out ok. What do you think?

Thank You Owl

Hello my crafty friends, 

Here is the thank you card I needed to make. It just wasn't coming together till I added the fence, tulips and grass. I knew what I wanted to do but didn't. Does that make sense? LOL Once it was completed, I have to admit, I think it turned out pretty good! 

The fence (along with the tulips and grass) is raised for dimension.

Wish Big birthday cards

Hello my crafty friends, 

I wanted to make a couple of cards as a token of my appreciation. I decided to make them birthday cards. Everyone can always use birthday cards right?? 

The balloons - outside and inside - and the outside sentiment (wish big) are raised for dimension. 

The inside of the blue card says: Happy Birthday (and underneath) Wishing you the best today and always!"

The inside of the green card says: May this birthday bring life's true gifts - good health, friendship, and love."

A big wish

Hello my crafty friends, 

I bought this sunflower image at a flea market about a month ago and wanted to do something with it.  This is what I came up with. I think it turned our pretty good. What do you think?

I have a friend who likes sunflowers and lime green. With the touch of lime green, I think it'll be the perfect birthday card for her next month. YAY!
