Swaps galore

What a great weekend! Friday night a friend stopped over and we did some  creating. Saturday I attended a 13-hour scrapbook event (what a FUN time!) then Sunday I did a little more on my own.

Saturday I was able to complete a swap that consisted of 15 card fronts and 2 months of ATCs - 8 each.

This first was for the 15 card fronts  swap. For whatever reason I knew exactly what I wanted to do as soon as I knew about the swap. Wish it was always that easy! LOL   The "thank you" is raised for dimension. Once I added the thank you, I looked at them and it just didn't look finished. It needed something. After I rounded the corners I knew that was it - it then looked complete.

This next was for last December's ATC swap. The theme was: "Leaves".  When I think of leaves I think of Fall so it could also be the perfect fall idea too. Each leaf was done in a different fall color but they were all distressed around the edges to add a little more fallish look to it and are all raised to add a little real ness.

The last is for January's ATC and this theme was "Coffee".  The "lace ribbon" was suppose to give the look that the cup is sitting on a table and the dotted background was intended as a wallpaper background. Hmmmm whatcha think? They say Miss U and each have a different color flower with a gem stone in the center. Ha the other 7 participants will have to fight over which color they're getting! LOL The cups are raised and have sparklies on them.  Most of you probably have realized that I like dimension and sparklies on my creations. :)

I had other things I had wished to have gotten through but with eating, chatting, learning from others and teaching things to others and looking at everyone else's wonderful projects - where does the time go! Looking forward to another fun-filled event sometime. Or maybe I'll host one. ???

Hope you like and thanks for looking!

Flowered Friends

I am now involved in a (frequent) swap. This is where card makers swap cards with one another - usually with a chosen theme. These swaps are a little different than what I've done in the past - these are just card fronts and not a real card just the front of the card. I needed to do 25. I made 28 for a couple extras and those I can turn into actual cards. There are 16 in the purple and 12 in the green.

The "F/Friends", phrase in the middle and flowers on the bottom corners are raised for dimension. I added a watermark of flowers for the background. I added some Crystal Effects to the yellow to add some glossy shine to them. I also distressed the scallop, phrase (Life Happens. Love Helps.) and all around the cards to give it the "perfect finishing touch".

Hope you like and thanks for looking!

Holiday Swap (2) "Stripes"

This is my second submission for my holiday swap. They can now go out in the mail tomorrow. Another month done. YAY!

I popped the top snowflake border and hung the embossed ornaments from it. I let the ornaments hang loosely for their true effect.

Holiday Swap (1) - "Stripes"

Last night while DH was still at work and all the DK were sleeping, I decided I was going to try and work on my next swap. The swap requirement is just 2 holiday cards and the theme is "stripes". Your 2 cards can be the same or different. Mine are different but similar.

For some reason no ideas were coming or any part of the design. Then all of a sudden it all clicked. I did 2 of this design. One will be for the swap and the other is for my stash of holiday cards.

The card opens from the side. I sponged around the Curly Label with the sentiment and the top half and sides in Old Olive. The sentiment is also popped. The DSP is actually all one one sheet - double sided - love how everything coordinates that way.

Hopefully I can do the other card tonight when all is quiet ... Then onto on another swap. LOL

Swap - Black & Pink

Tonight I worked on and completed my "Black & Pink" swap. I even made an extra!
I used my DSP and ribbon that I got at the flea market this past Saturday. The bottom layer pink oval and circle edges were sponged in black and popped - the circle was popped a little smaller.

Swap - "Masculine"

This is for my 1 4 1 "Father's Day/Masculine" Swap. I decided to just do a masculine while leaving the inside blank to let the recipient use it for how she wants.
On the front main image I used the torn technique and sponged around the sides and edges in blue to match sky. The seagulls were popped up. The inside edges were also sponged.

June ATC - "Music"

Here is my June submission for my monthly ATC swap. The theme is music.

I was able to use my new 1/2" circle punch, music stamps and symphony edger punch. And just in the nick of time: punches arrived yesterday and I had to make all 9 and mail them by this Friday so they'd have to be done by Thursday night. Whew!

The piano keys are popped slightly over the music ribbon; the single notes are also popped.

Now off to finish the other swap card - masculine theme - that's 3/4 done.

Hi Girlfriend!

I thought I would have this as my first blog picture.

I participate in a monthly ATC (Artist Trading Cards) swap with a group of talented ladies in OH. This was my submission of our Black & White theme for this past April.
